About

Jimmy Bashline     and his art

My father Jimmy Bashline loved circuses and animals

His favorite time of year was when the circus came to town. Later he built his own miniature circus and from there he started carving and painting animals.

James Bashline was from Butler, PA and was an artist and sign painter. He was also a cartoonist so you will see some of that in his work, too.  Most of the carvings and sculptures are made from wood. However, some are made from Sculpey clay, and this is indicated on the price list.  His medium of choice was acrylics for his paintings, although early on in his career he did airbrush paintings, and also used oils and watercolors.  All of the images that you see are for sale, and you may contact me if you have any questions. There is also a shipping charge unless you live in Butler or cannot pick up the artwork.

Dad also created a hand-carved miniature circus which we are hoping will soon be on display again at the Butler County Historical Society.  Check for updates.
